3 phase INduction LocomotiVe Requirement

3 PHASE INDUCTION LOCOMOTIVE
Why railway replaced locomotive engine
India doing great jobs in space travelling but now time to upgrade railway (life line of India)

Italy biggest user of 3 phase locomotive  in all over the world ,Inspite of Italy lady rules over India (Soniya Gandhi) it take many decades to came this technology in India why…

ADVANTAGES
• 3 phase locomotive are worked in very polluted and explosive conditions
• Cheapest in cost (due to absences of brushes, commutator and slip rings)
• Maintenance free or very less Maintenance
• Self starting torque
• Worked in mountain area without any failure

DISADVANTAGES

• Operating under lagging p.f (0.2 to0.4)
• Arise losses
• Some p.f correction equipment are required
• Speed control are difficult (variable frequency driver used in industrial level for controlling)

Note- Locomotive-
A locomotive or engine is a rail transport vehicle that provides the motive power for a train.
commutator -
an attachment, connected with the armature of a motor or dynamo, through which electrical connection is made and which ensures the current flows as direct current.
Brushes -
A brush is a device which conducts current between stationary wires and moving parts, most commonly in a rotating shaft
